Meaning of the letter CE
In the EU market, the "CE" mark is a mandatory certification mark. Whether products produced by enterprises within the EU or products produced in other countries, if they want to circulate freely in the EU market, they must be affixed with the "CE" mark to indicate that the products meet the basic requirements of the EU New Methods for Technical Coordination and Standardization. This is a mandatory requirement of EU laws on products.
In the past, European Community countries have different requirements for imported and sold products. Goods manufactured according to the standards of one country may not be listed in other countries. As part of efforts to eliminate trade barriers, CE came into being. Therefore, CE stands for CONFORMITE EUROPEENNE.
In fact, CE is also the abbreviation of the phrase "European Community" in many languages of the European Community. Originally, the English phrase EUROPEAN COMMUNITY was abbreviated as EC. CE certification mode
There are two ways of CE certification, one is COC (Certification of Conformity), that is, the certificate of conformity, which must pass the strict test of a third-party testing agency recognized by the European Union;
The other is DOC (Declaration of Conformity), which is a declaration of conformity. The professional test is conducted by the enterprise itself without the approval of the NB agency (the EU notified body, which is the license issuing agency listed on the EU official website, and each license issuing agency has a bulletin number on which the qualification authorized by the directive can be found.).
The main difference between the two lies in risk control and enterprise credibility. Passing the certification in COC mode will be a good guarantee for the quality of the enterprise's products. DOC, enterprises should bear all responsibilities
